Clive Cussler is a great adventure novelist. All adventure and action books that I have read, that have been written by him have been superb. The book Inca Gold is no different; as usual Clive gives the readers a firsthand view of the events of the history of the mystery. His adventure books usually remind me of famous movies, and this one in particular reminds me of Indiana Jones with all the treasure hunting and gun fights. In this book the book starts with the events of a Spanish treasureDirk Pitt is an amalgamation John D. MacDonald's Travis McGee, as well as the inspiration for characters like Randy Wayne White's Doc Ford, Matt Nix's Michael Westen and Lee David Zlotoff's MacGyver. He is a character that unlike MacGyver has no qualms about using a gun but he also relies on his wit to solve problems.Inca Gold is the 12th novel in a series created by Clive Cussler. Dirk Pitt and Al Giordino, a veteran team of marine salvage divers, volunteer their services to aid in the rescue
One of my most inspiring English teachers in high school had recommended Clive Cussler as one of the many authors that I should check out at some point. It took me about 8 years, but I finally got around to that part of my bookshelf, and what a treat it was.I didn't learn that Inca Gold was the 12th installment in the ongoing adventure series helmed by larger-than-life hero Dirk Pitt until after I polished this beauty off, but that alone speaks to how well written this novel is. There are
I also enjoy Matthew Reilly even more over the top, an Australian writer...Ice Station and Temple are great fun reads.

It looks good but I have not read it.
Dirk Pitt is getting a little old for this stuff now. Cussler even acknowledges the fact by stating that Pitt is on the lower end of forty. But just because the bruises may last a little longer doesnt mean he and Al Giordino arent up for whatever adventure comes their way. Much like Treasure, this story involves an enormous cache of hidden loot that is desirable not only for its monetary value, but also for the artifacts it contains and the history it represents. However, except for that
