Night Star (The Immortals #5)
Hidden in one of Ever’s past lives is a terrible secret about Damen—a secret that illuminates new facts about her relationship with Jude, but that’s so dark and brutal it might be enough to drive her and Damen apart once and for all. As Ever faces her greatest fears about the guy she wants to spend eternity with, she’s thrust into a deadly clash with Haven that could destroy them all.
Now it’ll take everything she’s got—and bring out powers she never knew she had—to face down her most formidable enemy. But in order to win, she must first ask herself: is her own survival worth dooming Haven to an eternity of darkness in the Shadowland? And will learning the truth about Damen’s past hold the key to their future?
Night Star has some pretty interesting conflicts and tension between characters.I still have quite a lot of questions about immortals versus rogue immortals, one version of the elixir versus another, and overall what's going on in Summerland. The tension built up all the way to the end of this book, which was great! I honestly didn't know what to expect during the last several chapters. Although, I had my suspicions about what might happen in a particular scene...and my guess turned out to be
Initially, I wasnt going to finish this series which is fairly rare for me. Evermore was fantastic! Blue Moon was great and then it all went downhill from there. I was so frustrated with the main characters absolute lack of growth not to mention the fact that the author constantly threw a character driven wrench that was just to convenient--whether it be [. ..] doing something incredibly stupid repeatedly throughout the books or the author writes Ever into multiple conversations and just chooses

(I have not yet read this book, because I have no time to buy it, grr. So this is my pre-review, which might end up as the entire review as well, if this book doesn't impress)I have 5 things to say:One: Okay, honestly, that whole "there's a secret about what Damen did in Ever's past that could tear the relationship apart" thing is getting ridiculous. One of the main conflicts in the entire series is Damen keeping things from Ever, and IT IS GETTING OLD. 1., Damen's immortal, and guess what, so
I am surprised at the negative reviews for this book. Trust me, I LOVED Evermore, completely HATED the 2nd book, "Blue Moon" and almost just stopped there. I'm glad I didn't, because after that 2nd book in the series, it really did get better from there. This 5th installment of the Immortals series left me with hope. We start the book off with Ever and Damen training for the fight that they know is coming with Haven. After Jude killed off Roman in book 4, Haven is on the rampage, completely
I'm ready for these to be over. I have been since shadowland. It's the same thing over and over and over and over and over and over and overrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr again. Thanful the next book is to be the last..... :(
I'm still not a fan of this series, I just keep reading it, because I started it. And I wouldn't recommend it ot a friend. I can't describe it excactly why but I always have the feeling, that it is annoying, the whole plot and most of the characters. the only two characters I like are Jude and Miles, but they are not so often mentioned in the book. The story about Damen and Ever is sometimes really boring and I just can't feel with them, also the part with summerland -> that's keeping rolling

Haven still blames Ever for the death of her boyfriend Roman, no matter how hard Ever’s tried to convince her it was an accident. Now she’s determined to take Ever down…and destroy Damen and Jude along the way. Her first step is to tear Ever and Damen apart—and she has just the ammunition to do it.Hidden in one of Ever’s past lives is a terrible secret about Damen—a secret that illuminates new facts about her relationship with Jude, but that’s so dark and brutal it might be enough to drive her and Damen apart once and for all. As Ever faces her greatest fears about the guy she wants to spend eternity with, she’s thrust into a deadly clash with Haven that could destroy them all.

But in order to win, she must first ask herself: is her own survival worth dooming Haven to an eternity of darkness in the Shadowland? And will learning the truth about Damen’s past hold the key to their future?
