"The most winning junior detective ever in teen lit. (Take that, Nancy Drew!)" --Midwest Children's Book Review

The Christmas parade gets furry in a hurry when three pranksters dressed as wise men toss some cats onto Sammy's float. Dogs shoot off in all directions, and the prize Pomeranian Sammy's supposed to be watching disappears. Turns out the darn fuzzball's been kidnapped. The owner is demanding that Sammy find her doggone dog . . . and she's a woman who knows how to get what she wants.

But Sammy's a pretty tough cookie herself. Dognappers, blackmailers, and wise men be warned!

The Sammy Keyes mysteries are fast-paced, funny, thoroughly modern, and true whodunits. Each mystery is exciting and dramatic, but it's the drama in Sammy's personal life that keeps readers coming back to see what happens next with her love interest Casey, her soap-star mother, and her mysterious father.

Discuss About Books Sammy Keyes and the Runaway Elf (Sammy Keyes #4)
I dont know what it is about Sammy Keyes that has me so engulfed. But reading this series over the last few weeks has really helped me through my work shifts, and Im not mad about it. Sammy has spunk, she has sass, she has smarts and she has heart. Every book my love for her just grows. I love the fact that she marches to the beat of her own drum and doesnt care what others has to say about it. Each ending teaches you a lesson rather it be about family, friendship, life or self. Sammy Keyes is

The book Sammy Keyes and the Runaway Elf takes place in san Martina and the main character Samantha sort of looses the winning dog for the canine calender float. Mrs. Landgovt the owner of the dog receives a letter to give the dognappers $50,000 or else they will kill her dog. Mrs. Landgovt gets an idea to blackmail Samantha so she can find her dog because shee thinks it was her fault that the dog got lost.

Not an objectively bad book, I just struggled to stay engaged and get through it.However, there was a good storyline about forgiveness.

I was disappointed. Instead of my kid's teacher encouraging the students to read a classic mystery like Sherlock Holmes, she let them read this "age appropriate" book. My kids read books like this all the time. They are like comic books for them. I would expect the school to introduce the children to something a little more challenging. Having said that I can say that probably most kids will enjoy reading this book much more than I did. And if they enjoy it, and it helps them to read more, then

really enjoyed this! the fourth installment of the Sammy Keyes series takes place during the holiday season and features a good mystery as well as themes of family, blackmail, death and forgiveness. throughout the book are many hilarious and awkward moments, but Sammy does also encounter some heavier matters along the way which ultimately results in gaining just a bit more life experience for her. :)

It is Christmas time for Sammy and she has another mystery to solve. During the Christmas parade, the Pomeranian dog was kidnapped by three mysterious people. Mrs. Landvogt, the owner of the dog blackmails Sammy that she expose Sammy's secret if she does not help her find her dog. This is your typical Sammy Keyes mystery book where Sammy is on another case to solve another mystery. I recommend this book for people who liked any of the other Sammy Keyes books and also people who like to read
