This book is set in Washington State, like most of Kristin Hannah's books are. I almost gave this book one star, but since I at least finished reading it, I figured it had a little merit. Overall, I found the characters unrealistic, shallow, and almost caricatures. She hooks me in, makes me cry, and gets me to love all of her flawed and authentic characters. I loved Miles and Zach so much!! I listened to this on audio and once again I have to say that I think that my experience of the book was enhanced because of this. The narrator (Kathleen McInerney) was brilliant, and I never felt like like I was listening to someone reading the story. Although the story has quite a few cliches and at times felt a bit teenagey for me, I felt for all the characters, especially Jude. I didn't understand or agree with all her actions, but then I've never been in her situation. I normally only
