He'sShabby Chic at Heart (Hometown Series Book 1) by Kirsten Fullmer is a heartwarming romance that is a little bit spicy, inspiring, and cute all at once. Tara as the protagonist is a house renovator, who is quite good at what she does. The level of detail that was written into this character and the actual detail given about home renovation was impressive, in particular when it comes to old homes. Tara is truly a protector of vintage homes and wants to keep them in their glory and as close to
Slow readStarted out a bit slow. Good story line and likeable characters. Tara was as little to confusing with her issues. I will go on to the next book.
Stupid, Stupid, Stupid...The main female character in this book is made to look like a weak, sensitive crybaby, who throws temper tantrums every chance she gets! I couldn't continue because I got tired of her being unable to finish a sentence and running out of the room each time Justin tried to show her how he felt. Today's women aren't like this character at all and I hope that this isn't a book based on a personal experience from the author or someone close to her...a waste of my time...smh
4 out of 5 stars ____________ Full of romance, humour and drama, Shabby Chic at Heart by Kirsten Fullmer is sure to capture the interest of any reader. Tara has lived in small-town Smithville her whole life. The town is her family. She refurbishes old estates and vintage furniture, keeping things to the shabby side. Taras goal is to please the town and make the people happy, so when an offer of a lifetime pops into her career she cannot say no. She did not expect to have a partner-in-crime
Sweet story on getting over obstacles and letting yourself be loved.
Kind of a typical romance. Beautiful woman who has no idea she is beautiful even in ripped jeans, tank top and pony tail meets a somewhat cocky city boy who is instantly attracted but they keep misunderstanding each other. It wasn't that the book was so typical that made me not care about it because it is a romance and that's how they roll. I really didn't care for Tara. I understood that she had a difficult childhood and it made it hard for her to trust but I don't know why she was so afraid of
