I went into this book with low expectations, so it impressed me by the end, but looking back the fact is that it's still basically mediocre. Maybe 'developing' would be a better term - as with many first novels, especially self-published first novels, there are indications here of talent that just needs more polish and practice. And because it's a first novel - and a quick check of her author page tells me Argyle's written a lot more in the meantime, and probably honed her skills a great deal -I didn't love this book but I did like it enough to continue on to the next book in the series. It was very young adult, but I still liked the characters for the most part. I also appreciate it being offered as a kindleunlimited.
There you have it! It just went to my DNF list. It is slow and boring so far. I wanted to give it a chance but with SOOOO many books on my TBR (ever growing) list I figured it is ok to pass. I don't recommend this book.
